Walter A. Williams, Jr., Joins Shelter Island Risk Services

We are pleased to welcome Walter A. Williams, Jr. to the team. Mr. Williams joins SIR from Lowe’s Companies, Inc., where he was Director – Governance, Risk and Compliance.

“Walt brings a wealth of experience to SIR both from his time with Lowe’s and earlier at Specialty Risk Services (now Sedgwick CMS). Walt also provided thought leadership on Enterprise Risk Management topics to make RIMS a Center of Excellence for ERM education, research and guidance. The Risk Management challenge today is putting data and technology to work in practical ways. Walt has a history of doing exactly that. While Walt first made a name for himself in using data and analytics for claim management, he expanded that background into providing risk information for a variety of business decisions,” said Richard Denning, President of SIR.

“I believe that my mix of experience in analytics, claim management, governance and a variety of risk management roles provide me with the practical experience to assist SIR clients in a variety of ways,” said Walt Williams. “The timing to transition into consulting is right and I am excited to start a new chapter in my career. I have been impressed by the SIR team and I’m looking forward to bringing the benefits of my experience to SIR’s clients,” added Williams.
